Hello fellow LEGO lovers!

I've been meaning to do something with this blog, but I couldn't think of anything to talk about.  Now that it's December, I finally have a topic.  Hooray!  I bought a LEGO advent calendar last month and was very excited when I finally got to open the first little compartment on Wednesday.  So, I will be posting an entry for each day of my advent calendar.  Seeing as it's day 4 already, I'll just post the first 4 days in this entry and start with the daily entries tomorrow.

The front of the box folds down and there's this picture on the inside.  It's nice that they gave people a place to display things from the calendar.  I've only gotten the calendar once before and it didn't have this.  I just had little models all over our coffee table.  I won't give it away in case there are people who haven't heard about it, but there's one model in the advent calendar which doesn't belong in someone's living room, lol.
Day 1:
The advent calendar begins with a fun snowman to place outside the home on the display picture.  The arms are a bit strange, but I still like it.
Day 2:
On Thursday I opened the second compartment to find a little boy minifig with 3 swords.  I found it just a little weird that a kid would get a sword for Christmas, but after watching an episode of Super Nanny last night in which a couple let their sons play with machetes, I guess anything goes for some people.  I've always wanted a sword or a dagger, especially one with an awesome dragon handle.  My parents came to my apartment for Thanksgiving this year and my mom had to drag me away from a table full of swords when we went to a flea market (this was shortly after I responded to her question "why do you want one of those?" with "to play with it").  It probably wouldn't have been a good idea to buy one anyway, seeing as I live in a university owned apartment complex.  I'm not allowed to have candles, so I probably can't have weapons either.
Day 3:
Besides a sword, I've always wanted a skateboard.  However, seeing as I'm very clumsy, it's probably a good idea that no one's gotten me one of those either.  It amazes me how I manage to injure myself sometimes.  I love the fact that the calendar came with this, but the ramp bothers me because it's not flat to the ground.  Having never skateboarded myself, I really don't know anything about the sport (other than what I learned from playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and watching "Rocket Power"), but I would think that this would create some sort of problem.
Day 4:
As I open each compartment, I find my self singing "On the __ day of Christmas, my calendar gave to me..."  Well, when I opened the 4th one today I sang "On the 4th day of Christmas, my calendar gave to me...a thing."  Lol, I had to google the set to find out what it was.  Upon finding a flickr user who has already assembled everything, I discovered that it is a mini crane.  Of course, I recognized it as a crane as soon as I read this.  Of course it's a crane, what else would it be?  Actually, my first thought was that it was a snowblower, though I've never seen one that looked like that.

Well, that's it for the first 4 days of LEGO Christmas!  Make sure to come back each day up until Christmas to see what else is included.  :)
